OCR to PDF — Make Scans Searchable with Browser OCR
Turn a scanned document or photo of text into a searchable PDF using Tesseract OCR running in your browser. Supports English and Turkish; no upload needed — the scan and the recognized text stay on your device.
How OCR works here
The Tesseract engine loads in your browser the first time (about 30 seconds), then reads the pixels and outputs recognized characters. Accuracy is high on clean scans, lower on photos with skew or shadows.
Tips for better accuracy
Straight, well-lit scans with black text on white background give the best results. If your source is a photo, crop tightly and adjust brightness first with the Photo Editor.
Frequently Asked Questions
What languages are supported?
Currently English and Turkish. Other languages would require loading additional Tesseract language packs.
Why does the first run take so long?
The OCR engine (~10 MB) and language data are downloaded on first use. Subsequent runs are much faster because everything is cached.
Does it handle handwriting?
Tesseract is trained for printed text. Handwriting accuracy is poor — for handwritten notes, specialized services do better.
