Position options
Bottom-center is the most common — the number sits centered in the footer. Bottom-right suits letter-style documents; top-right suits printed reports where the footer is used for a title.
Custom starting number
Set the starting number to anything (default 1). Handy when this PDF is chapter 3 of a book and page 1 should read as page 47.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I change the font or color?
The tool uses a neutral gray Helvetica by default for maximum compatibility. Custom fonts would require embedding, which balloons file size.
Does it renumber existing page numbers in the PDF?
No. Existing numbers stay wherever they were printed originally — this adds a new layer on top.
Can I skip the first page (cover)?
Not directly. Split the cover off first, number the rest, then merge them back.
